The Bellagio Hotel and its magical fountains |
|
|
Las Vegas is one of our favorite cities - in fact we even got married there! We have taken several trip so the city and there is a never ending list of shows to see, restaurants to try, and my favorite, hotels to explore.
Our favorite hotels to stay at are the Bellagio and the Venetian. If you stay at the Bellagio, we highly recommend going for the full lake view rooms - you get a front row seat to the incredible fountains, and you can listen to the soundtrack that they are coreographed to on the television. Here is a look at the Bellagio:

One of our absolute favorite things to do in Las Vegas is to watch the Bellagio fountains, day or night, whether from a room in the hotel looking down, from Jasmine looking towards the Paris Hotel's Eiffel Tower, or from the Strip. We have stood for hours in the evening, when the display is every 15 minutes, just being mesmerized by the awesome beauty.

Restaurant Recommendations
One of our all-time favorite restaurants is Postrio in the Venetian Hotel. It is located in St. Mark's Square in the Canal Shoppes, and has a wonderful view of the street performers if you get an outside table. It really does feel, as much as one can, that you are in Venice watching people stroll by. The lobster sandwich is absolutely fantastic, and it is the perfect afternoon lunch spot.
If you are in the mood for a steak dinner (Kobe and Waygu - YUM!) , or the world's best lobster bisque, we highly recommend Craftsteak in the MGM Grand Hotel. The food and the service are phenomenal. The atmosphere is soothing and elegant and not too loud. We like it so much that we go every time we are in Las Vegas!
For an intimate, upscale evening, we suggest Le Cirque at the Bellagio, which serves divine French food and which is where we had our wedding dinner. You dine under a flowing silk ceiling with some of the best service we have ever encountered, and the food is beyond superb. Reservations are a must as the restaurant only seats 80. It may very well be one of the best meals we have ever eaten anywhere. Sharon was recently back to Vegas for a girls' weekend, and took several friends to dinner. The meal was once again fantastic, so fantastic in fact, that one of Sharon's friends went back a few months later and took her mother there!
For the best view of the Bellagio fountains, and really good Chinese food, we like Jasmine. It is Cantonese style food, in a serene environment. There are floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake
