Ah Maryland...the home state of Travel Team 360! There are many fabulous things about Maryland - parks, beaches, proximity to museums and culture, and great restaurants. Here you will find reviews and recommendations of some of our favorite local haunts, among other useful information. Check back often for our latest finds!
One of our favorite Japanese restaurants anywhere is Tako Grill, in Bethesda. The restaurant serves both sushi and cooked cuisine. Mark is our sushi afficionado, and highly recommends the unagi. Sharon, on the other hand, equates raw with "not quite dead yet" (imagine a Monty Python accent), and loves the chicken teriyaki and miso soup.
Favorite Outdoor Pursuits
You can't go wrong with a hike to Olmstead Island in Great Falls National Park on the Maryland side of the Potomac River. While any walk along the tow path along the C&O canal is nice, the trip over the footbridges and paths out to Olmstead Island ranks as a highlight. From the end of the walk, you get a front row view of the falls, which can be quite spectacular when the river is high. Standing there and watching the water rush and tumble over the rocks, it is hard to believe that city life is close by.
If you love to dance, Maryland is a fabulous place to do it! You can find swing, ballroom and latin dancing 7 nights a week. Some of our favorite dance teachers and locations are:
To move, to breathe, to fly, to float To gain all while you give To roam the roads of lands remote To travel is to LIVE!
