Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood - St. Petersburg
We completed our first trip to Russia to see the wonderous city of St. Petersburg on the Crown Princess cruise ship. In order to make the most out of our two days in the city, we decided to take the "Comprehensive St. Petersburg" tour and the "Imperial Evening at Catherine's Palace" tour. While it is admittedly a bit insane, we managed, through the two tours, to spend 26 hours sightseeing in the 34 hours the ship was docked in St. Petersburg. The "Comprehensive St. Petersburg" tour lasted approximately 10 hours each of the two days we were docked. The "Imperial Evening" was approximately another 6 hours the first evening (with a quick 1 hour return to the ship in between to change clothes into semi-formal evening attire). We admittedly didn't sleep very much, but we think you will agree once you read about our adventure and see our photos. If you have the energy, we highly recommend it.
Tour buses await!
We disembarked the ship around 6:00 a.m., went through customs, found our bus, met our tour guide Anoushka and our driver Nikolai and headed for our first destination, the Peterhof Palace on the outskirts of St. Petersburg. Click HERE to see our trip to the Peterhof Palace!
