Vigeland Park - Oslo |

Oslo! Woke up to find that we were already docked in the picturesque port of Oslo, Norway. We were off the boat by 7:45am and in a taxi headed for Vigeland Sculpture Park. We beat the tour buses (YEAH!) so we got to wander around before it was too crowded. The sculptures were very unusual and very striking. From there, we walked back to town, stopping at the Royal Palace, Karl Johans Gate, the Hotel Continental, National Theater, Nobel Peace Center, City Hall (where the Nobel Peace Prize is presented), back to Karl Johans Gate, past the Parliament building, and then to Café Skansen next to the grounds for Askerhus Castle for a relaxing outdoor lunch. After that, we wandered around a bit more, found a large sculpture of FDR (don’t know why it’s there), bought some souvenirs and then headed back to the ship. We spent time on the balcony watching as we pulled out from Oslo and sailed the Norwegian Fjords
